Wildlife Rehabilitators
Find a licensed rehabilitator HERE
As the world that humans and wildlife share grows smaller, interactions have increased. If you encounter a wild animal that is hurt, sick or vulnerable (young and abandoned, for example), contact one of Vermont’s wildlife rehabilitators. These are licensed professional volunteers around the state who have been trained in the care of wildlife.
Keep in mind that there are only 19 licensed rehabilitators in all of Vermont. They are spread thin. Also, these individuals tend to have their specialties in terms of the species they work with, so don’t expect a particular rehabilitator to engage with every kind of wildlife.
Also, remember they are volunteers. Their time and often their resources are typically self-funded, so consider making a donation to the rehabilitators you engage with.
